Day 3, we book a day tour online to Blue Mountain through http://www.bluediamondtours.net/
Wise choice i would say.
This company is run by our tour guide, Alena and her husband Roberto. Both very nice people
We are picked up at our hotel early in the morning by a Luxury Mercedes Benz that can sit maximum 14 people. Droven by Alena herself.
As our group has 9 people only so we are joined by another couple.
(You can choose to have the tour exculsive but of cos at an additional price)
Once everybody is comfory on board, off we go to start our beautiful day!
It takes about 1.5hr car ride to the heart of Blue Mountain district.
Before they bring us for our breakfast, they brought us to a place call Flat Rock.
There are no barriers around, so if bringing kids, please please hold their hands tight.
This place is very pretty, where you look out, everything is just what is name of "Flat".
After taking some photos, we went to a cottage house to enjoy freshly baked Scones with Jam & Cream with Homemade Dessert & Hot Chocolate is a MUST when you are in cold country!
The scones is so soft and yummy. The Jam and cream is so so delicious!
We have a very fulfilling breakfast.
As for ReAnne, she is happy to have the hot chocolate all by herself!
With a full tummy, we are ready to see the 3 sisters!
A short backgound of the sisters, they are an unusual rock formation representing three sisters who according to Aboriginal legend were turned to stone. And why were they turned to stone, there are 2 different stories behind it and if you are interested, do take a look at http://www.bluemts.com.au/info/thingstodo/threesisters/
Back to the tour, at scenic world, there are 3 rides, Skyway, Railway and Cableway.
(Rides are at own expenses)
First is the skyway.
This glide between cliff tops and gaze at the rainforest canopy through the glass floor of the Scenic Skyway.
The 720 metre journey provides the best views of Katoomba Falls, the Three Sisters, and Jamison Valley stretching to the horizon.
After we reach the top, we took a stroll to take the Railway.
And along the way, we are greeted by the 3 Sisters again.
Camwhoring is a must!
Then off we go to take the Railway.
This is a 52° incline riding the steepest passenger railway in the world.
It is steep but no worries, is not scary at all!
And is moving at a comfortable speed!
After the ride, is another stroll in the park.
There are 2 pathways, an hr walk or 15mins walk.
With my MIL and ReAnne with us, we took the latter.
Is a nice walk to be so close to the nature away from all the cars.
ReAnne keep telling us she hears birds chirping.
Last but not least, we reached the Cableway station.
The 545 metre journey gently descends into the Jamison Valley and to the top of the escarpment. This provides a unique vantage point for viewing the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock, Mt Solitary and Katoomba Falls.
While waiting for the rest of the people, we enjoyed the sun outside the scenic world shop.
Before we leave, we bid our last goodbyes to the Mountains at Echo Point.
Then Alena brought us to Koomurri Aboriginal Cultural Centre (The World's oldest Culture dating back 40,000 years)
We are suppose to go there to watch the people sing and dance.
But we were worried that ReAnne might be scared by so many of them with these make- up.
We skip it!
While waiting, we continue our camwhoring!
Everything just look so nice when we are having holiday at a good weather country ya!
haha
After this is off for lunch. I cannot remember why no pictures are taken. Maybe i'm too hungry till i forget! =P
This day tour also includes a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park.
We are very lucky to be welcome by a joey, which is another word for young wallaby.
And wallaby is just smaller verison of kangeroo.
Before we fly to australia, we been telling ReAnne we are going to see kangeroos. So she is really looking forward to see them.
And this park is good as she can feed them and pat them.
There is even koala bear for us to take photo with.
I just have to upload this picture cos it just look so funny!
I wonder what ReAnne and the koala are thinking!
Sad to say, my mood became as blur as this pic before we leave this park for our boat ride.
The stripe of the camera snap and the camera fell and broke the lens (Er jie...Sorry once again )
Spoilt my mood for the rest of the day!
But lucky is the photos we took are still there!
If is gone, i think i will cry sia!
