Her 1st lego Robot

The Starting of her Learning Journey ...

1st day of school she is very happy and excited. She gets to bring her new favourite minnie mouse bag, water bottle and wear her favourite mickey shoes. On top of that, daddy and MA MA brought her to school and mummy is there to accompany the whole session for that day.

On 2nd day, she is still excited as she don't know that her nightmares are starting. Upon discussing with her teacher, I decided to "leave" her for awhile. Actually I can still accompany her in the class but I don't want her to think that mummy can go school with her so I 铁了这个心, decided to "leave" her on 2nd day.

Seeing her crying and screaming when I left her, my heart really sink. Believe me, I'm also fighting my tears out there. I was hiding outside the school
Trying to peak on her whenever I can. Trust me, 不看还好，一看我的眼泪都流出来了. She is not crying the whole time but sobbing whenever she thinks of me. Seeing her like that, I seriously think maybe she should just stay at home with me.

After about 1hr plus, her teacher ask me to go in as she thinks is enough for the 1st time to leave her. After I went in with her, she is back to her usual self, playing with the puzzels and etc.

3rd day of school, still no rejection of going to school yet. Been telling her she can go school and play with her friends, like Jake, Maria, William and play her favourite car and balls with Mr Henry. And focus on mummy cannot go in the school with her anymore.

Sometimes she takes what I say but there are times where she will say she wants mummy to go school with her or she don't want to go school.

After first 2 weeks, according to the teachers, she only cry when i left her. But she will stop after awhile.

To be frank, I actually doubt the teacher.

So 1 of the days, I actually hide again to check and is true!

She did stop crying and join the rest during the circle time.

I'm so glad she start to join in with the rest and have fun.

For the past 2 weeks, no cry or whine from her in the morning.

And she will tell me "Bye Bye daddy, Bye Bye mummy, cannot cry!" when we are in the car!

There was once she say "Mummy go" once we reach the school.

Arrr.....my little girl has grown up!

I have mixed feelings!

Should i be happy or sad about this?!?!

Introducing Discovery Center

Since end of last year, we have been seriously looking around for a playgroup school for ReAnne.

We went to a few schools and went for a few trials and I'm glad that we finally decided and confirm on this school call Discovery Center.

Discovery Center is a Montessori School. Most of the students there are foreigners so language wise is so much better as they will only speak English.

For Pre-school program, their schedule is like the following:-

8.30-9.00am Outside playtime

ReAnne get to play her favourite car or even go to the front yard and play swing or slide

9.00 - 9.10am Circle Time

They will gather in the gym room and sing songs together

9.10 - 9.30 1st group activity

Mon,wed and Fri is cooking day which the school will let the children do their own cooking for their snack. Like make their own donuts, cut carrots or fruits, spread jam on their breads and etc.

9.30 - 10.3o Learning Center Time

At this time, the students are free to do anything they want.

They can stay at the main hall and do all sort of different kind of puzzles and educational toys.

or go to the library room and read story books or play with the computers

or go the activity area where they can do painting or life practical activities like pouring water, scoop balls, lacing and etc

or go to the gym room to play ball or simply roll around!

All the different stations have different teachers in charge, so they will actually note down whoever came to their station to play and how they fare! And those who never go to their station, they will ask them over to do their activities!

10.30 Snack time

Which is also ReAnne's favourite time!!

Her teacher told me ReAnne is always one of the few who will sit at the chair to wait for her food but she is also the slowest in eating!

I actually thought she eat very fast but 一山还有一山高

10.45 Group Activity

They will either dance and sing, do art & Craft, read story books or etc

11.15 - 11.30 Outside Playtime

Another thing we like about this school is that they gave us a very homely feeling!

Whenever we step into the school, everybody will greet us happily and are able to say Reanne's name. A few days ago, ReAnne got a nose bleed in school, the next day when we went for school, some of the teachers even thought is different class teacher also know she bleed and ask me how is she.

Chinese New Year 2012

This year Chinese New Year we are at Jakarta!!

Yes, we missed the celebration again!

Hopefully this is the last year and we get to celebrate in Singapore with everybody next year!!

Well back to the topic, celebrating CNY in jakarta is basically nothing much as we got no particular place to go 拜年.

But wear new clothes and go out 秀一秀是一定要的!!

As Day 2, most of the office and school are open!
Which also mean ReAnne is starting school as well!!
